Description
The Banovani Sofa - Noble Women Series is an art sofa created by DAE in collaboration with Georgian artist Anano Kevanishvili.
“Banovani” refers to noble women in old Georgian culture - figures associated with dignity, education, presence, and cultural continuity. This sofa draws inspiration from that legacy, translating it into a contemporary furniture piece where illustration and form exist as one.
Anano Kevanishvili’s artwork depicts women in a calm, intimate moment, surrounded by architectural and ornamental elements inspired by Georgian heritage. References to historical spaces such as the Dadiani Palace, along with garments influenced by traditional Georgian dress and figures like Nino Chavchavadze, appear subtly within the composition.
The sofa is fully renovated and upholstered, combining a restored vintage structure with custom-printed textile featuring the original illustration.
The Banovani Sofa functions both as seating and as a collectible art object - designed to carry memory, narrative and quiet strength into modern interiors.
